Human is the Seed
How a piece comes together here
We started working with AI in 2026. Since then, we always do the composing. Arrangements are ours, alone or together with AI. Production is AI-assisted. The ideas, the characters, the stories, the visual style and the decision about what gets released and what does not come from two people, Christoph and Thomas.
And yes, we write prompts. A lot of them. We keep rebuilding them until the result is exactly what we had in mind. That is the most time-consuming part of the work, and the part you never get to see.
The difference is not whether we use tools. It is that we do not take the first thing that comes out. We release only once a result matches what we intended. Then we stand behind it, because we like it and because it represents us.
Which tools we use along the way changes faster than we can maintain a web page. So there is no list here that would be wrong tomorrow. If you want to know how a specific piece or a specific video came together, ask us. We answer.
What we think about it
To us, AI is a double-edged tool, and we treat it that way.
Without these tools, PTO would not exist in this form. Two people cannot pay an orchestra or staff an animation department. That is the opportunity, and we take it.
At the same time there are open questions we cannot settle and will not talk away. What these tools learned from. Who benefits and who does not. What happens when music can be produced endlessly and cheaply. People who reject these tools have reasons, and we take them seriously.
What we can promise is small and therefore durable: with us, a human always comes first, we claim nothing else, and we say so before anyone has to ask.
What we do not do
We do not pass off music as hand-played when it is not. We do not invent band members. We do not recreate the voices of real people who have not agreed to it. We do not claim AI makes music better. And we do not release anything just because it is finished.
As of September 3, 2026. If the way we work changes, we change this text and note underneath what changed.
